If you are looking for advice on how to stay fit while traveling in an RV travel trailer, motorhome, camper van or tiny home you should watch this video.

It should go without saying that jogging and hiking are two of the best ways to work out as a full time RVer. The places you travel provide you great opportunities to get out into the real world and explore nature, or even cities if you are a stealth camping boondocker.

Yet if you are looking for a more intense workout then you should consider purchasing equipment that you can store inside your RV, whether it is a fifth wheel travel trailer, large motor home or a camper van. Many RVers will find that exercise equipment is very portable and affordable these days, so there is little excuse to not have it. You can do a good full body workout inside your RV with the right tools.

Fitness Exercise Equipment for Working Out in an RV

This is a list of some of the fitness exercise equipment that I use when working out as a full time RVer. This equipment is very portable and can be used in small spaces such as the inside of an RV.

Weight Training Resistance Bands

You can purchase a variety of weight training resistance bands.

Kettlebells for Weight Lifting Training Inside an RV

I find kettlebells to be a better workout than most dumb bells are. This is because they are gripped in a way that encourages multiple muscle groups to be used, making for a more complete workout. You can swing them in a small space as well, and this can give a cardio workout in addition to a good muscle resistance routine.

Weighted Vest for Jogging and Hiking as a Full Time RVer

Many people (myself included) use a weighted vest for adding additional resistance while jogging and hiking. These vests are a great piece of very affordable and portable equipment that help you burn more calories in a shorter time when jogging. They can also be used to add more resistance to isometric exercises like pushups and pullups.

Bike Pedal Exerciser for Exercising While Sitting in an RV

A portable bike pedaler is useful for burning extra calories while working remotely or watching television from inside your RV trailer, motorhome or camper van. These useful pieces of fitness equipment provide resistance for your legs and you can burn a hundred calories for every hour you spend pedaling. If you are dieting this can be enough to help you gain weight loss.

Chest Expander Exercise Gripper

I find this tool to be very useful after doing some curls with a resistance band. It helps isolate the muscles of the chest to give them a good burn, but can also be adjusted to provide workouts to the biceps, too.

Ab Roller Wheel for Abdominal Workouts Inside a Camper Trailer

An ab roller wheel can be used in the narrow long spaces of your RV, such as the hallway between the bedroom and the kitchen area.

Hopefully this short guide and video has given you some ideas on how you can still live a good healthy lifestyle even while living full time in an RV. Just because you travel in a trailer, fifth wheel, camper or motor home doesn’t mean you must forsake fitness in your life.
